I was wondering if anyone had a LabVIEW driver for the USB version of the Garmin GPS-18.

I'm looking for the same type of thing, to try and run this GPS unit in LV possibly. Although I haven't looked into the matter in several months. Has anyone found a driver or come across any type of vi for the GPS unit? Like I said, I was looking into some things, but just haven't had the time to keep going. If anyone could share any insights or examples, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I too am looking for a way to communicate with this device in LabVIEW. It should be easy to talk to a dll if it is available. I looked at the SDK from garmin and no dll, just .NET code. Please help.

How do you wnat it to communicate with this instrument, i.e. GPIB, USP or serial.

I am using the Garmin GPS18 USB device. Garmin released software called 'spanner' which simulates a com port (you specifiy) which NMEA which pipe through. Using spanner, I have been able to access the USB device through a com port VISA interface. Conclusion, USB Garmin devices can be used in labview just like a serial port GPS using the spanner software.
