LPT1: the system hangs up

I try to write to the parallel port LPT1 with the Write to Serial.vi; I have
just added a line serialDevices="COM1;COM2;LPT1" in the Labview.ini, as
suggested in the KnowledgeBase of http://www.ni.com
but the system hangs up. Anybode can help me?

See the article "Using the PC Parallel Port as an 8-bit Digital Output Port" at
http://www.advmeas.com.

It should solve your problem, as it did for me.
