topic Another aggregate question in Lookout

Ok - there's something I'm not getting about aggregate objects - first - the parameters I'm really interested in modifying are remote URLs to symbolic links - except when you set up the URL (of a Pot for example), I can't seem to enter URLs with symbolic links in them as (it says error: object [SymbolicLinkName] does not exist..

also if you choose not to expose certain parameters, do those parameters retain the values you assigned to them while developing the aggregate process??? For example, if a gauge object is set to flash if Object=1 and you want Object to be the exposed parameter, does this work? Please help;

Brian Oliver
Brian,

You are correct, when developing an aggregate object if you do not expose the parameter you will have in the aggregate object the value for that parameter equal to the parameter object value by the time of the aggregate creation.

Regarding the symbolic link I am getting in touch with our developers because it seems I am also missing something, since I could not expose succesfully the URL parameter creating an aggregate. I will post a answer here as soon as they get back to me.

Regards

Andre Oliveira
Applications Engineer
National Instruments
Hi Brian,

when setting the aggregate object, just put the URL path between quotation marks and you should be in good shape to go.

Regards

Andre
