Hi
I am new at Labview. Now I am trying to connect my oscilloscope Agilent DSO-X-3024A to the Labview. When I connect it to the computer, the oscilloscope doesn't appear under the LabView 'Devices and Interfaces'.
I have download the driver for the oscilloscope which is USB connected 'Plug and Play' and put the whole drive folder into the Labview library directory. Futhermore, I have also download the drive/ library called 'IOLibSuite_16_2_15823.exe' for Agilent Oscilloscope. My labview version is 2011 student.
When I try to test the examples to the oscilloscope it appears the waves on the screen which I guess it means my osci is connected to the Labview. So I am just really confused why this devices doesn't appear under the devices section.
Futhermore, everytime when I plug the oscilloscope to the PC, a software called Labview Signal Express will pop up and I have no idea what software is this and what does it do.
So could someone help me a little here.
Thanks.

Hi s111170.
MAX is a NI porduct, and it will only show NI hardware (when NI-DAQmx is installed). If you have any COM-ports in your computer, these will also be visible (when NI-VISA is installed).
However, when you plug your USB-instrument into your computer, you should be able to see it in Windows Device Manager.
It seems like you have done everything correctly. It is always a good idea to try an example to test the connection and the instrument. After this, you can use the example as inspiration and modify it to suit your needs.
SignalExpress is a 'simplified version' of LabVIEW, meaning you can do data acquisition without any programming skills.
I hope this answers all your questions.

Hi, Alex
Thank you for the reply and the Aligent Ocsilloscope can be ran in some of the examples however some other runs in errors. I guess it means that it is connected to MAX and Labview.
Thank again.
Best regards
