I have installed the Vernier SensorDAQ (NI-DAQmx 8.6) The USB driver seems to load, but the hardware is not accessible

I have several versions of Labview (Windows 7), 8 and 9. I installed the SensorDAQ under Labview 8. The VI's do not recoginize the DAQ and the NI Measurement and Automation utility does not find the DAQ either. The NI dirver appears to be installed (Device Manager). The light on the DAQ is blinking which is supposed to indicate it is functioning. Suggesttions?

Hello Syncrec,

Thank you for using NI forums.  What USB DAQ device are you using, and what driver do you have?  You can find the driver by opening Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and looking under My System » Software.  Also, you said your device shows up under Device Manager, but what does it say when you right-click on your device and select properties (looking for a message that says the device is working properly)?  Lastly, are you using the Windows 7 starter or the full blown edition?

The driver Vernier ships with SensorDAQ, 8.6.1 might be incompatible with Wndows 7 (32 bit) and also with Labview 9.

One solution:

Delete NI DAQmx 8.6.1

Download and install latest NI DAQ driver, 9.0.2

Re-install SensorDAQ

The SensorDAQ is now recognized by the NI utilit

However, not all of the Example VI's function completely so there still must be some incompatiilities between the latest driver and SensorDAQ. I will look into this in more detail
