Hi,
I was installing the NI PCI 6259 daq card on my computer's motherboard, but found out that the card has about 10 more pins than the PCI connector on the motherboard. What should I do?

My guess is that the connector on the PC motherboard is not PCI. It may well be a connector designed to take a video card. If it is a really old PC it could be an AT bus connector.
Take a look at the connectors other boards are plugged into on the motherboard. You will probably find that they are different from the slot you attempted to use and are in fact PCI bus slots. If you want to remove a card be sure to power off the PC. PCI slots are not 'hot swappable' and you stand a good chance of damaging the PC if it is turned on.

Thanks for the reply, but the slot I am looking at on the motherboard is a PCI x16 slot. This is the one I am talking about, but there are extra pins on the DAQ 6259 card. Does that clarify my question?

Also, how would I replace the connector on the motherboard?

The NI PCI-6259 is a standard 32 bit PCI bus (I hope). The dagram below left shows the different size PCI connectors. You mentioned PCI x16; is your motherboard fitted with PCIe slots? Look at the picture below right for PCIe slots.
Replacing the connector on a motherboard is not really an option.
