Resources required by oscilloscope are in use by another instrument

Whenever I try to run the oscilloscope from the NI ELVISmx instrument launcher, it says that the resources required are being used by another instrument, and that I should stop all other instruments to use this one. However, there are no other instruments running right now, as far as I can tell. How do I fix this, or figure out why I'm getting the error message?

Am I correct in assuming that you are using the NI ELVISmx launcher to access the oscilloscope soft front panel for your myDAQ?

Could you please post a picture or the full text of the error message you receive when you try to launch the scope?

Have you tried restarting your computer? Have you tried removing your device from your computer and re-connecting it?

Thanks,

Cameron

Yes, your assumption is your correct. I have tried all of your suggestions, but the error message persists. The error message reads "The resources required by the Oscilloscope are in use by another instrument. To run this instrument, stop all other instruments." The DMM is working perfectly okay, though. By the way, I the DMM is not running while I attempt to run the Oscilloscope.

All of the potential myDAQ resource conflicts can be found in Table 6 of "NI myDAQ User Guide and Specifications" specifications page (http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/373060e.pdf ).

We can see that the oscilloscope will face a resource conflict when the Bode Analyzer or the Digital Signal Analyzer are also running.

I was able to recreate your error message by starting the oscilloscope when the DSA is already running. However, you have already mentioned that all of your other programs have been stopped.

Do you have any LabVIEW programs running in the background that are using the DSA, oscilloscope, or Bode Analyzer?

Could you please try closing all of the myDAQ instruments and the NI ELVISmx Instrument Launcher, then re-opening the NI ELVISmx Instrument Launcher and opening and running the oscilloscope? If there are no other programs interacting with the myDAQ, then the oscope should run without the conflict message.
