Vision assistant

how do i download the vission assistant software?  I am pretty sure its part of the academic licence i am using

You can download the NI Vision Development Module here.

Download the evaluation version and activate it with your academic site license.

Thanks, I realized the issue was with the fact that I'm running the software on a mac os, so apparently that portion of the software isn't available for a mac. I'm pretty sure this is my issue.

That is correct. Vision Development Module is not supported on a Mac OS.

Is "Vision Assistant" actualy a module of "NI Vision Development" ?

Yes, Vision Assistant is a component installed with the NI Vision Development Module (VDM).  It allows you to access the VDM functions and build an image analysis script in a separate program that can be converted to LabVIEW, C, or .NET code.  The product page linked earlier doesn't give a lot of detail on Vision Assistant but does briefly mention it.
