What is SFP??

From the NI ElVIS manual, The "Manual Switch" Controls whether the negative supply is in Manual mode or Software mode. In Manual mode, the voltage knob controls the negative power supply. In Software mode, the Variable Power Supply SFP controls the negative power supply.

What is SFP? How do use it to control the power supply?

Hi Lawrence,

SFP stands for Soft Front Panel. It is a program that is installed along with the driver. After you have set up your Elvis instrument click on your Windows 'Start' button and navigate to All Programs -> National Instruments -> NI Elvis -> NI Elvis. This will open a window with buttons on it. Clicking on these buttons will open the Soft Front Panels (SFP) that you can use to access Elvis. Soft Front Panels are designed to get you up and running quickly without having to do any programming. They are also made to look like traditional bench top instruments so using it becomes intuitive.

Have a good one.
