myDAQ not recognized by Windows with ELVISmx and DAQmx both installed

I just installed both ELVISmx 4.2.2 and DAQmx 9.2.1 on my Windows XP laptop. I thought that's all the driver software I needed to make myDAQ recognized by Windows.

After i plugged myDAQ into my USB port, a Windows New Hardware Wizard pop up. I let it do "Install the software automatically" but it ended up with "Cannot Install this Hardware."I tried to manually select device type and install the driver, but under "Data Acquisition Devices" there was no myDAQ but only a couple DAQ devices.

I could not see myDAQ in MAX "Devices and Interfaces" tree either.

Can someone help me with that? Below is a snapshot of my MAX.

Hello Forrest,

In Windows Device Manager, do you see a yellow exclamation mark or an unknown device entry under "Other devices?" Please post a screenshot of your Windows Device Manager. Did you reboot your system after installing the drivers? Can you test whether this behavior occurs on different USB ports?

Best regards,

I am getting the same error.

Driver is not getting installed.

I am getting the device in Device manager but with exclamation  mark.

I tried Restarting the system, manually searching for the driver and directing it to the setup folder but still doesnt work.

I have attached a screenshot for your reference.

Can you give your inputs/suggestions on the same?

Hi Paul,

Drivers was the issue.

After installing the latest one, it worked like a charm! 🙂

Thanks.

Glad to hear that.

As a general rule with any of our software, the drivers will always have to be the last item installed so they can properly associate themselves with all of the other software components.

Good morning jahson,

You can repair your drivers by going to the start menu >> Control Panel >> Programs and Features >> National Instruments Software.  In the pop up window that appears, you can select on each driver to repair them.

A secondary question for you:  Is this the first time you're setting up the myDAQ or did something happen so that Windows no longer recognizes it?

When you right click on the myDAQ and go to properties, what does the description say?
