myDAQ with Raspberry Pi?

Hi,

Firstly, sorry if something like this is already posted. I looked around but couldn't find anything. I'm very hesitant about posting.

A few months ago, this document was put up in which low-cost DAQ drivers were submitted which could be used with the Raspberry Pi.

The myDAQ is meant to be a low-cost DAQ device for students. Is there any chance something like this might be possible to do with the myDAQ?

I got an RPi a couple of weeks ago. I've come to terms with the idea that using LV on it directly may not happen anytime soon. But, now I have a myDAQ as well. Is there any way I might be able to use them together? Would it definitely require using DAQmx drivers (that I'm not sure I can install)? I'm a bit new when it comes to using this software outside of windows, so I don't know what it entails (or if it's possible).

I'd love it if I could build a small, portable, low cost DAQ with a graphical user interface based around these two items. I'd be interested to learn whatever I'd need to learn to do it, but first I need to know if it's even possible.

If it turns out that doing this requires some impossible reverse engineering of NI software, then I'd just like to suggest that someone please modify the drivers submitted to work with myDAQ if possible. After all, the RPi was first and foremost designed with teaching in mind, and so was the myDAQ, right?

Hi Polyphemus,

Unfortunately, the Raspberry Pi DAQ driver is a community released driver and is therefore not supported by National Instruments.

There is currently no way of using the myDAQ with a Raspberry Pi. If however, someone from the community would like to take this on, it would be great to see!
