It's easy to download this stuff, but how do I install it?

On the Getting Started Window of LV 2011, click on "Find LabVIEW Addons". This will either launch VIPM (if you already have it installed) or will take you to a page to download the installer. VIPM manages LV addon packages. In LV 2012, the installer ships with LV and so you no longer download it separately.

"Find LabVIEW Addons" doesn't start strangely enough.
I checked the Win7 Event log which says:
"LabVIEW information: Error: 404 "Not Found" for "national instruments/labview/ni example finder/1.0/niexamplefinderserver", file "c:/program files/national instruments/shared/ni webserver/www/national instruments/labview/ni example finder/1.0/niexamplefinderserver": Can't access URL "
I already have the VIPM installed, so I started it instead, but I find nothing there indicating anything about Actor Framework.
I also downloaded the 2011 version of the AF-files manually and selected "Open Package File(s)" and pointed to the spec file.
I don't know if this is the right way to do things, but anyway, I then got the message: "This package is not compatible with your operation system or any LabVIEW system installed on you computer".
I checked the spec-file which contains the line: Format Version="2010"
Does that matter?
Of course I have LV 2011 installed.

If you have VIPM, you should be able to just use Open Package File(s) and have it work.
Hm... try this. In VIPM, in the menu bar, choose Tools >> Options. Click on the LabVIEW icon. If you don't see your versions of LV listed there then something is wrong with your installation of either LabVIEW or VIPM. If you do see them listed, test each of the connections.
If that doesn't work, I'm going to have to point you to the VIPM forums for support.

LV 2011 is listed and enabled there. So I guess the VIPM-forum will be the next to try...
