Hi Rohith,

Is the CANTalk application using LabVIEW CAN vis to communicate with the different controllers on the network?  Could you please provide more information on how you have the system configured?  What version of LabVIEW are you using?

I would also recommend looking at the CAN read and write examples in LabVIEW.

Hi Andy

The device I am testing is the Motor controller drive, CANOpen has been implemented in that, currently I am doing labview automation of the test cases provided my client. In one of my application I have to change the Node id, and have to check the communication by providing the new node id.This I implemented, but my client is saying that you need to show the new node id as output using CANtalk protocol. This CANtalk Protocol has to be implemented using CAN.

I dont think so I can do that using CANOpen.

Hi Rohith,

I am still not able to find much information on the CANtalk protocol; would it be possible for you to provide a screenshot of your block diagram?  When you say client are you referring to the master device on the network?

NO Andy I Client the word referred to the person who gave me the project.

They had given a executable which is almost similar o Ni's Code Loader, I thnik it works on CANTalk protocol.

The device should be on for that, this scans the node id of the device ,with specific baud selected.

Once the device gets detected,it allows us to download firmware to the device.

Hi Rohith,

I understand your frustration.  National Instruments supports CAN and CANOpen protocol.  I am not sure what you are referring to when you say CANTalk. I searched online and was unable to find any information about CANTalk.  Is CANTalk based on CANOpen?  What version of NI-CAN are you using?  Do you have the NI CANOpen library installed on your computer?  What is the hardware you are communicating with?  If you could explain in more detail, what CANTalk is and how you are programming with CAN, I would be happy to help.
