If I connect a node to my CAN Bus that needs power from the bus (lines 9 V+ and 3 V- on a 9 pin connector) how do I have to set my NI PCI CAN card power source jumpers J1,2,3? internal, external or don't care?
The power settings on the PCI-CAN only affect the board's transceiver. The board will not provide power to the bus. If you have a node that needs power from the bus, you need to have a power supply that provides power to those lines. The setting of the PCI-CAN jumper has no effect on this.
