I am a postgraduate student doing some work on CAN and Flexray as part of my Masters thesis. I recently attended an introductory course on Labview and am quite interested in using Labview for communicating with Flexray. I have the TZM flexcard, and Labview version 8.0, I have installed the flexray library. I dont have a config file (CANdb or CHI) for the network, but I do know the necessary values for the network to run. Is there any information someone could give me that would be of help, even maybe sample code that could get me started, as I am pretty new to Labview. I have checked the website but so far havent found much information that is of help to me.
Thanks
Brian

Hi Brian,
Have you downloaded and installed the FlexCard Library for LabVIEW which can be located for download on the following page?
If so, there may be some examples which install with the library.
Examples can usually be found in the following folder :
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.0\examples

Steve

Hi Steven, thanks for getting back to me on this. I only had the Library downloaded from the NI site. I have now installed the library from the TZM site also. (there is a problem with the link to the Library on that page, but the link can be found on the printer friendly page). When I downloaded the files and read some of the documentation, I have spotted another problem I may have. My flexcard is the Cyclone, and the documentation only mentions the Cyclone II and Cyclone II SE. Do you know if the Cyclone card will work with Labview?
I also found some example Flexray vi's but there doesnt appear to be any config files with it. Is there anywhere else I could find a sample config file for Flexray?
Thanks again
Brian

Hi Brian,
Sorry for the delay in communication.
Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with the use of Flexray, however at NI we do have a specific team you can address with your query by sending an email to the following address: FlexRayInfo@ni.com.
I'm sorry I could not be of more help to you.
Best Regards,
Steve

Hi Steven, thanks again for getting back to me. I have contacted that email address, but they have told me they dont support that driver, and I have to get on to the manufacturers of the card for help. I have emailed the manufacturers, but their help has been limited as they are not fully up to speed on the driver either. If anyone else has some experience with it that would be greatly appreciated.
Brian
