NI-CAN Grayed Out under Library pull down menu. I get Undefined Symbol errors.

I'm using LabWindows CVI 8.5 and under the Library menu I see the NI-CAN item grayed out. Right-Clicking under 'libraries' and selecting the 'custom library menu' shows NI-CAN to be checked. How should I proceed with getting my NI-CAN library functions to work?

As a first step, try uninstalling NI-CAN and then reinstalling.  This will copy all of the NI-CAN libraries into the correct locations.  Please let me know the results of that.

Hello frankcira,

You can also look at this knowledgebase article which may solve your problem.

If both these suggestions do not work, can you let us know which version of NI-CAN you are using.

Have a great day.

Thanks, uninstalling and reinstalling the CAN worked for me. Simple solution, thanks for the feedback.

Two comments:

1. You do not need to uninstall the entire NI-CAN driver software; you can simply uninstall the LabWindows/CVI Support feature and reinstall it.
2. Make sure that your version of LabWindows/CVI is supported by the used version of NI-CAN (see knowledgebase article # 2V27R4HR)
