Hello,
Using a PCI-8513 board, I often encounter the error 0xBFF630BA (-1074384710) when trying to start a session using NI-XNET.
The error message mentions a low-level communication error with the device itself (PCI board), so I assumed it was a driver issue but after verification it seems all good.
The issue seems to appear randomly, no matter if something is connected to a CAN port. I tried to restart the computer several times, to deactivate/reactivate the device (through Windows Device Manager) but nothing seems to work until eventually it works again perfectly (no error, sending and receiving frames...).
If anyone has a clue on what is going on, I would be glad to read it!
Thanks.

Hello Copro,
I have seen a similar issue with the PCI-8513 board. The issue was resolved by upgrading to NI-XNET 19.5. Not sure if this will resolve your issue but what driver version are you using?
Also could you let me know your set up, what chassis/controller are you using etc
What happens if you do a self test in MAX?

Hello Shez, thanks for your answer.
NI-XNET (alongside with MAX, VISA) is already at version 19.5 so it is unlikely the solution to this issue. However, I've tried to run an autotest from MAX and it seems to correct the issue when it appears. It does not prevent it from happening in the first place but this is still a first victory 🙂
My setup is:
- 1 PCI-8513 board for CAN communication
- 1 PCI-5122 SCOPE board
These boards are mounted on a computer running with 64 bits Windows 10 Pro.
As stated before, the issue occurs whenever devices are connected or not.
Thanks again.

Hello,
have you solved the issue? Seems I have the same issue with this card PCI-8513/2. I was able to perform self-test from MAX but the self-test didn´t fix the issue.
I will try different card e.g. USB-8502 if the issue appears again.
Regards,
Jan
