Unable to View Transmitted Messages in NI-XNET Bus Monitor

Hi everyone,

I'm currently using the NI-XNET Bus Monitor to observe CAN communication between two systems. While I can successfully see the messages being received, I'm unable to view the messages that are being transmitted from one system to the other.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Are there specific settings or filters that need to be configured to view transmitted messages? Any guidance or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Under Interface and Database Settings, enable Log Transmitted Frames.

You might want to set the Run Mode to Subordinate.

Hi @Mapwar96,

This issue has come up in several threads and is often related to session configuration, filtering, or hardware setup. Here are a few things to check:

Configuration & Filtering

 Hardware & Bus Setup

Let me know if you’d like help reviewing your session setup or if you can share a screenshot of your Bus Monitor configuration.

Hi,

I can see that messages are being transmitted on the CAN bus for a while, but after some time, all transmissions stop. However, the received messages are still visible on the bus.

In this scenario, we cannot conclude that the CAN bus is malfunctioning, because for a certain period, both transmitted and received messages are present and visible on the bus.
