Incidentally, much of this pain should be gone with NI-XNET 1.3. The use case should be similar to NI-CAN now: FTP either your .NCD or .DBC file to the target and then create tasks using the filepath of the database on the RT target.
Using deployed NI-XNET databases will no longer work (but this was unintentional to begin with).
