Hi,
I dowloaded the Biomedical Startup kit a while ago. It seems that in my version the conversion of tdm files to edf files is not yet working (under construction sign appears). Are there already some versions that might do this or when can we expect this great option?
Best regards,
Henna

Hi,
EDF export is on our feature list. Please wait for a moment .
What's your application using EDF instead of TDMS?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for your fast reply.
I'm doing a project in two separate labs, one of which is using LabView-based program(s) to collect EEG data and one of which has CED (Spike2) set-up. In order to compare data of different formats I thought that EDF would be the shortest way to go in between applications without going through MATLAB .. -I have ready-made and optimized rodent sleep EEG scoring scripts in Spike2 (sleep scorig is not yet available in Biomedical kit, I suppose) which I'd like to use to analyze the tdm(s) files with but since Spike2 does not export tdm(s) files, I have run into frustuating problems.
Best regards,
Henna

Hi,
Thank you very much for the information!
I have several questions then, it would be very nice if you could answer
Have a great day!

Hi,
Sorry for the long delay in aswering...
* The EED data acquisition system is built by your lab? I mean the electrodes. And how many channels in your data acquisition and which acquisition card used?
-The electrodes we use are self- made Ag/AgCl wires (125µm diameter) and also the differential DC/AC amplifier is custom made. Signals are digitized with National instrument BNC-2090 devise + NI-PCI-6229 data acquisition card
-I usally use 5 channels (2 EEGs, 1 movement (movement platform), 1 breathing (piezo element) but the amplifier has 6 channels alltogether. I think that 15 channnels in max with this set-up
-The Analog Data Acquisition software is custom made with LabView8 ( OmniLyze4?).
* For rodent sleep EEG scoring you mentioned, is there any reference? Let us see whether it could be integrated into the Biomedical Startup Kit.
-I have used a Spike2 (Cambridge Elctronic desing, CED) rodent sleep-scoring scripts (for more information see http://www.ced.co.uk/seu.shtml) with many custom-made modifications.
Some more questions,
I did already find a way to read my tdm-files in Spike2 by converting them to csv-files in Diadem. However, with my longer files ( 1hour) Diadem is not able to convert tdm files to csv-files. Why is this? We are using a pretty high sampling rate 5kHz and the files get pretty big, could this be the reason?
Is there anyway to first down-sample the data in Diadem before csv-conversion. I could not locate MatScript in Diadem...
Thanks a lot,
Best wishes,
Henna

Hi,
Maybe you could try the File Format Converter in Biomedcial Startup Kit. It could convert TDMS to CSV.
Thanks!

Hello,
I recently joined an EEG lab that uses LabVIEW to acquire data. Because I need to process my data in Brain Vision Analyzer Software I am trying to find a way to export LabVIEW data in EDF format. Is this possible using the Biomedical Startup Kit 3.0?
Many thanks!
Rob

Hi,
Sorry that in the current version, EDF write is not supported. But it is in high priority. I will let you know when it is ready. BTW, why not using LabVIEW for your analysis directly?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thank you for your quick reply. Would you happen to have a sense when this will be available to help me plan ahead? I will be looking for alternatives in the meantime. For exmaple, my new lab also uses ERPSS, and so LabVIEW .BED-files are often converted to .RAW or .RDF-files and then imported into Matlab, so perhaps there is a way to convert .RAW or .RDF-files to EDFs or another file type compatible with Brain Vision Analyzer. Or, perhaps ERPSS can export different file types. I'm new to LabVIEW and ERPSS and frankly don't have time to devote to learning a new language these days, which is why I would love to work in Brain Vision Analyzer- where I am most experienced.
Thank you again!
Rob
