Is anyone using the Biomedical Startup Kit to analyze phonocardiographic signals (.wav files).

My interest is in extracting S1 and S2 heart sounds and doing time and frequency spectrum analysis.  Thank you for your help.

Hello,

Do you have any data files? Biomedical Startup Kit doesn't provide dedicated PCG analysis functions. However, other toolkits like Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit provides very easy to use time frequency analysis functions.

You could share some data here if possible and let us have a look.

Thanks!

Attached is a .wav file of a phonocardiogram recorded at the bedside.  Thanks again for your help.

Hi,

If you would like to do time frequency analysis. You could refer to https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-12791 and in that article, you could download a VI to achieve this:

This is the output using your wav file. Maybe then you could use some thresholding or other technique to detect what you want. Sorry that I am not familiar with PCG feature extraction. See whether other guy could say something.

Thanks!
