All,
I am asking for a contribution. I will make that clear from the start. I wish to be granted a sponsorship for a limited home use license for LabVIEW to continue supporting the NI forums from home.
Many of you know that I am actively pursuing LabVIEW contracts in the Twin Cities- I have found what I believe to be a good fit! But, The client has contracts that have national security implications and there is no justification for a home use agreement. Hence, I am unable to continue to use a licensed version of LabVIEW from home. And worse,I am unable to use LabVIEW to acccess this body of knowledge after hours!
So, I said to myself, said I, "What will you do?" The answer was obvious-- ask on the forums.....
I know I am asking for some entity to support a mere hobby of mine. I will abide by reasonable restrictions on the license agreement if you will support my endeavor to support the NI community from home.

Let's not forget that Jeff is the Community Member of the Month, and we definitely don't want him to spend his entire free time watching b-movies. 😄
I certainly hope we can find a solution to keep you participating. That scenario was exactly the reason of my idea long ago.
Best of luck!

Here's the link to the arduino bundle. It is the student edition, which includes the event structure.

I wish that we could get LabVIEW to support these forums. What I do for home is install LabVIEW on virtual machines. Once the 30 days are up, I reload the virtual machine. I don't use it for work - I use it to support these forums. You may want to consider doing the same thing. As far as I can tell, it's within NI's terms, but then I'm not a lawyer (thank god). NI: if you want to sue me, go right ahead.

By the way somebody (I think Jim Kring) has an idea on the exchange to include the event structure with all versions. Everybody is encouraged to vote for that.
Thank you all for the suggestions and potential work-arounds Hmmm.. Got a Birthday coming up next week---- I'll hit up the Lovely Mrs. for an Ardunio- I've wanted to play with the darn thing anyway

Keep in mind that the Student Edition has specific license restrictions which may mean you wouldn't be able to legally use it.

Can somebody from NI respond to this? Does Sparkfun have NIs blessing on the bundle? I ordered it but I am not a student. I will be using it exclusively at home as a hobbyist for educational purposes and completely without financial gain. Do the "educational purposes" give me the right to use the software? Throughout the ordering process there was nothing asking me if I am a student or telling me that I need to be in order to purchase this bundle.
