Raksha Bandhan is also celebrated, but among only the settlers from North India.
But I can bet that North Indian Diwali is celebrated on a much bigger scale in Madurai than even in Chennai or Coimbatore, because of the decades-old business settlers from there.

Actually. our home is situated just near the Rajasthan feeders. (two canals in the pic)
aslo, you can see the biiiiiiiiiiggggggg fields in the pic as well
