Looking for used LabVIEW License

Hi fellow Forum-members,

I am looking for a used and expired LabVIEW license to use for my personal LabVIEW development.

For this I need a valid license which has expired. According to the NI License such a license can be sold:

Transfer. If you have a named user license, computer based license, debug license, or if the SOFTWARE is
Multiple Access Software, you may transfer the SOFTWARE to a third party provided that you notify NI in writing
of such transfer (including the name and location of such third party), such third party accepts the terms and
conditions of this Agreement, and after such transfer, you do not retain any copies of the SOFTWARE (including
all Upgrades that you may have received) nor retain any of the written materials accompanying the SOFTWARE.
NI may, in its discretion, charge you a fee for the transfer of the SOFTWARE. If you have a VLP License, a
Surviving VLP License, a concurrent use license, an academic license (including without limitation a student
edition license), or a debug license, the license is non-transferable and you may not, without the prior written
consent of NI or its affiliates, distribute or otherwise provide the SOFTWARE to any third party or (with respect to
a VLP License or a Surviving VLP License) to any of your Sites or facilities not expressly identified in the
applicable documents from NI.

(quote from the NI general license, section 5)

So I am looking for someone, some company that has such a license for sale (not a VLP, Surviving, concurrent or Academic license). I would preferably use a 2009 license, but 8.5 or 8.6 is also suitable for me.

If you are such a person, or know a (previous) customer that has a license that's not used, please contact me at labviewstartup@hotmail.com.

About me, I am under a member of this forum a different name with the Trusted Enthusiast level, I hope that's trustworthy enough.

Regards,

I don't know what you are doing with your personal development.

I was in the situation to build a program as a tool for a virtual railroad simulation program. I asked my company if they were willing to allow me to use the license and I asked NI to allow me to use the license this way. Both granted it.

Also this KB article may apply to you.

Yes that KB article applies to me.

But I want to move beyond that and sell my own code to other LabVIEW users as an add-on.

For me the current price of the LabVIEW license (PDS) is that high that it's very unlikely I will see a return on such an investment when I only make money through this channel, not working as a consultant or freelancer (I'm not yet ready for that).

So I am looking for a LabVIEW license on a bargain.

One option would be to ask your customer (if it's project-based and not a general software) to grant you a license from their own stock for the time of the project.

The other option that comes into my mind would be to licenses your code to a company that sells it and has a licenense (and pays you the work involved in this project in the future).

Option one is not relevant (there is no customer, just me creating the code in my free-time).
Option 2, is interesting, but the problem of ownership is in question. I think I currently cannot give anyone a license to the code except for my employer, whose going to do nothing with the code.
However this is becoming off-topic. I am really looking for a used LabVIEW license.

Hi all,

I'm in the (quite the) same position of the author of this thread. I'm interested in buying an used licence for selling a small project I'm developing,

Sometimes in e-bay happens to see some used license, I'm interested in knowing if someone has ever successfully transferred license from a company to another and also, I'm a little bit scared about the generic statement "NI may, in its discretion, charge you a fee for the transfer of the SOFTWARE" ...
