The fact that some cultures find our eating of Beef to be very wrong makes this kind of joke very regional.

There are a whole host of animals which may or may not be acceptable to eat depending on where you are (And I don't count Vegetarians because that's NOT the same thing).

Pork

Beef

Dogs (Is there a word for dogmeat?)

Snake

Insects

Snails

Horse

etc...

So people eat dogmeat.  What's the fuss about exactly?

I might have inadvertantly started something I had not intended.  Frankly, I've traveled extensively through South East Asia in my youth.  Enough so that I know the term "Fragrant Meat" refers to canine derived protiens.

You are missing some:

Rat

Cat

Guiana pig

Monkey

Humans ( mostly ritual I believe )

And be honest thy do make sure you know you are eating an animal. I have met children ( age around 10 ) that believe meat comes from a factory. I think that is more disturbing.

I was in a mongolian restaurant in Shanghai and they specialized in dumplings. Each dumpling had a different color, depending on the contents (pink for pork, yellow for chicken, etc.). Grey was for donkey and they were delicious! 😄

Raises some interesting questions.  If a mad cow believes it's a cabbage, is it OK for a vegetarian to eat it?

Of course you need to wash it down with some chicha (the version processed with spit, of course).
