Really guys? I go on vacation for one week and 3 pages of stuff is filled after something I want to comment on that went down the rabbit hole of WW3, preppers, post-apocalyptic, embedded hardware, and devices that look like (but aren't) bombs?
...
So we did not mix it up enough for you?
Let me try this one on.
My brother is a life-member of the local volunteer fire department and they were looking for a training location to help them train for emergency rescue events. They need to learn how to rig for recovering people that fell into step gulleys and were injured OR kids climbing a rock face and a cliff collapses, etc.
Enter The Ridge
I gave them permission to train on the property we call The Ridge that features a lot landscapes that include gulleys and a cliff at the north end. I am keeping that in mind for the time I am sitting a listening to the birds chirp and are suddenly set apon by a group of fire fighters.
I figure I can do my small part in serving the community by allowing their training.

Anyway yes the spelling was a bit random, I always say "3 oh's and 2 h's". Of course then people ask if the first h is included in the 2. It was a story from jr. high where the gym teacher would call us up to the kick ball plate like a real athlete making up fake nick names on the spot like "Billy 'the kid' McCalister". I just happen to be Hooooooooovahhhhhh. Be grateful I shortened it.
Well, at least they didn't hijack the random posts thread![]()

Ben, to be honest, after hearing about your guns and swords, I would be very scared to enter your property, even with your permission 😄
ps.: may I ask what did you use for the photo? Camera or smartphone? A bit underfocused. Hmm, or it is intentional, so we cannot see the Vietcong style traps on the ground??? ![]()

If the firefighters can work under those conditions they'll be prepared for anything. Ben is just doing his part to make sure they are adequately trained.

Oh, I see! So the name "firefighters" is a slang word in US. Real meaning: "Delta Force" 😄

Smart phone with shaky old hands near dusk. I can never tell how well a pictures turns out with loading it to Shutterfly and viewing with a large screen display. By then it is too late. My son is always complaining about my low resolution images but I have yet to figure out how to improve the image density. It is damn hard to get good images of the steep clefts because I can not stand back far enough with out loosing sight of the thing I am trying to picture and the thick tree cover means it is always dark.

Yes, smart phones really lose quality if there is not enough light. You need a decent camera for such conditions I imagine...

Worry when the photo appears to be zooming
That might mean Ben stepped too close to the edge.

Pretty much.
I had my better-half call into 911 when I found a neighbor recently wandering bare-foot in the street and she did not know where she was. Turns out it was a stroke. When taking my information for the incident report, the police officer looked at my drivers license and asked "What is your relationship to Bruce?" I answer "my baby brother." My better-half said "EVERYONE knows Bruce!" and the officer nodded and said, "He should run for mayor."

These may be more clear images to illustrate the training grounds.
Eldest G-daughter ready to head down into that gulley.Taken from the garden looking down into that gulley from the other side. We cleared this are three years ago. Was briars and brambles.
Bottom of that gulley where the collection pond for the ram pump is located. Still fuzzy image even at this range.
Yet another gulley to illustrate how steep the sides are. Coal seam is exposed in the gulley.
I could not find clear images of the cliff at the north end but representative is gulley behind my son's place.
and the waterfall near the top.
I installed a rope as we climbed to make it easier to climb. The above were taken with a camera by the way.
