I've had good luck with "edit group policy".

As have I (set to 2 on my dev machine, which pops up notifications), although from what I've seen, the service pack updates (like the creator's update) work separately from this and ultimately it seemed to force me to install it. My understanding was that you need pro or enterprise for this setting to work. Also, the documentation says you can set it to Disabled to not have automatic updates at all, but I haven't checked that.

The second best is today or in my case, Saturday afternoon.

I entertained myself out in the weather on Saturday plating some replacement fruit trees in the orchard we are trying to develop. It was bleak and snowing on and off but I enjoyed it just the same. The better-half and I share a common dream of an orchard with fruit everywhere. But those do not come without some effort and an afternoon of "super insulated bat-skivvies" every now and then.

I had been expecting apples and pears but to my surprise, the better-half had ordered an apricot and an nectatcot (which I had never heard of prior).

Spring may not start until tomorrow but in my plans it is well under way.

This wasn't useful enough for me to want to post anywhere else but I noticed this LabVIEW quirk today and I thought it was kind of interesting. Basically, any color you select for the fill/line color in the icon editor or for the wire colors when editing a class's properties will become the current color of LabVIEW's coloring tool.

does that qualify as bug or feature? Smiley Wink

Look at your LabVIEW.ini

ColorPickerRecientHistory isn't even saved by default.  Although, I wouldn't be surprised if a token existed.Smiley Wink

.. or how to get bald.

Step 1: Initially configure Windows Firewall to allow network access for your application and be happy everything works.

Step 2: Code some more on your Network Stream VIs, deploy and wonder why nothing works.

Step 3: Troubleshoot your error to the last detail (log debugging msgs from everywhere, build specific test cases, and so forth) and still don't find anything wrong with your code.

Step 4: Lots of time later: Remember that you saw Windows installing updates.

How the **** is it OK to change critical settings without informing the user?

I lost two days because windows updates changes stuff on a whim.

... sorry for the rant

Don't put "Critical" resources on a non-deterministic OS.  They are made for making humans happy not for maximum availability.

Huh.....

I forgot the color picker saved a list of the last few colors that you had selected. I guess the coloring tool just defaults to the last color in the color history.

Uhmmm.. Yeah, that's sort of how the coloring tool behaves.  In Theory, the Class Property's Editor.whateverColor could get split from the ColorsReceintHistory similar to LibraryIconOverlayColor  or any of the IconEditorXyzColor tokens. but I don't mind the current behavior since,  ...Ahem. I often Codevelop with an associate or buddy code and my ColorsRecientHistory is not CLOUD BASED like "MyLabVIEW" features would need to be to avoid frustration.

TIP: When using the coloring tool for things like VITs Drop a color constant on the BD with the RGB values as the label Or, PROTIP: use a RING like Icon Overlay=x00FF00, Boarder=x0F0F0F Text=X5500AA.

Here are some YouTube videos that offer an update on the remodel project the family has been into.

The first is a review of the progress that has been made after 20 cu yds of debris has been removed.

This one talks about the possible floor plan.

Nobody seriously hurt yet. A lot of fun still to come.
