Very well said.  Especially about converting the lurkers.  I was once offered the opportunity to participate in a NIST lunch-time open LabVIEW ask the experts session.  I brought my magic 8-ball and placed it on the table next to me.  I identified at least a half dozen "regular lurkers" in the audience just by observing facial reactions.

Maybe their reactions were that they thought you actually used your 8 ball to come up with the answers..  😉

Or they had never seen an 8-ball before..  And thought you were an expert at pool..  😜

True.  We can't really call him an expert anymore since he failed the CLD-R.Smiley Wink

Is that a no reply?  Or couldn't come up with a good comeback and hit post instead of cancel?  I'm asking out of pure curiousity.

-----------------------------------

Tim is correct that I pulled a swing-n-miss on attempt 1. I highly recommend the online training since the exam appears toallign closely with examples used as learning vehicles in the course. I had fully intended to complete those courses before attempting the recert I lost track of time and shot from the hip. I did not even leave myself the time to refresh on the example exams. I just suddenly saw the Nov 17th date and went into panic mode. Oh no! I have been so vocal about training and certification AND I AM ABOUT TO LAPSE!

Lesson learned. Watch the calender.

Tim, I appreciate your additional insight on the matter.

next month I will ask for a waiver on personal objects and take the 8-ball with me into the exam.
