What is the best time of day to have a UGM? 4-6 PM? 1-3 PM?
Any ideas on a potential venue?
It seems we have outgrown the RAM brewery in Schaumburg, so we are on the lookout for a new venue to host 2011 UGMs. The ideal venue would accommodate 30+ people, have a screen to project on, etc.

I could not attend last meeting because of timeslot, and I afraid that may happen to me again in future. I vote for 1-3.
Schaumburg is ok, but please, don't move it south of Schaumburg.

I think most of those who work as in-house developers can't get away early. I vote for 4 to 7 pm time slot.

4-7 is just doable for me because I can get most of a day's work in before the meeting. 1-3 really blows the entire second half of the day.
As far as options, Goose Island in Chicago has a nice meeting room that is laid out in a way that would work for the meeting and they have parking.

Driving from Lake Forest College, Schaumburg is far enough(!), so I agree with skof about place = please no further south. The 4:00 time seems good (tho, Spring 2011 I'll have conflicts most Thursdays with long lab sessions and Mondays teaching a community education course 7-10 pm ["The Mind and the Brain"]).

Thanks All for the input!
The upcoming Feb. 16 meeting is a Mega-UGM so it will be held at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg .
For future meetings, it looks like the Schaumburg Township District Library could be a viable option. Is anyone a member there or have experience with the library?
