Performing Shunt Calibration with the PXIe-4339 and RM-4339

Overview

This code demonstrates how to access the various shunt calibration resistors available with the PXIe-4339 connected to the RM-4339 accessory.

Description

The RM-4339 gives users access to a variety of shunt calibration resistors.  In quarter bridge mode, users can use either the 50 kOhm or 100 kOhm SCB resistors built in to the RM-4339.  In half or full bridge mode, the user can either use the built-in 100 kOhm SCA resistor or a user-provided resistor of any value with the SCAL-4339 accessory.

Steps to Implement or Execute Code

Attach a bridge-based sensor to the RM-4339 and then run the VI.  If you select to use a user-provided SCA resistor for shunt calibration of a half or full bridge sensor, you will need to use the SCAL-4339 accessory.

Requirements

Software

  • LabVIEW 2011 SP1 or later with NI-DAQmx 14.5 or later
  • If running in a Real-Time context, you will need the LabVIEW Real-Time Module 2011 SP1 or later

Hardware

  • NI PXIe-4339 with the NI RM-4339 accessory and (optional) SCAL-4339 accessory
  • External precision DC calibration source
