6501 digital input

I am using a USB 6501 and Signal Express to read some digital inputs. Right now the card works fine and I am able to read the signals.

My question: is it possible to collect/log only one record per change of state? right now, the program keeps polling the line and logs multiple records for the same state. May I solve this issue with a 6501, using any kind of workaround?
