Controlling PCI-6601 with Matlab

New here and with NI Counter/Timers...
Can you control the counter/timer functions of the 6601 with Matlab? I see on the Matlab Data Acq. Toolbox that 6602 and 6608 are suppoted, but no mention of 6601. I can use the DIO functions of the 6601, but do not know where to start to count an input signal (buffered periodic event counting) using Matlab. I would prefer to use Matlab as I am using it for some other DIO processes. I have not found examples for this... Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Jeff

Hello jstir.

Thank you for posting to the NI Discussion Forums.

A list of the NI hardware that is supported by the Data Acquisition Toolbox in The MathWorks, Inc. MATLAB® software is available at the following website:

Data Acquisition Toolbox 2.9: Supported Hardware - National Instruments
http://www.mathworks.com/products/daq/supportedio5871.html

The PCI-6601 is not listed on this page so it is not officially supported, but I am glad to hear that the DIO applications are running well on it.

In relation to your counter question, counters are not supported in the MATLAB® environment.  Please refer to the following website for confirmation on this issue:

Counter support for MATLAB®

For up to date information on this issue, please visit http://www.mathworks.com/ to see if this support gets added at some point.

Let us know if you have any more questions!  Have a great day!
