How can I clear the input buffer on 6602 Daq card?

We are having problems where the card is reading and then it stops.  Have tried different 6602 cards and different computers.  The data source is fine.  The solution seems to be rebooting the computer, at this point the card is able to start relaying data to the application again.

is there a command that I can issue (or a utility program which I can run) which will clear the buffers and basically reset the card without having to reboot the computer?

Harry,

I am assuming you are using LabVIEW.

There are two ways to reset your device.  You can reset it from LabVIEW or you can reset it from the Measurment and Automation Explorer (MAX)

Attached are two screen shots showing how this is done.

I hope this helps,

Lorne,

Thank you for your response.  I checked with our developer and we are using Measurement Studio with VB6, so we cannot use the LabView option you described.  We I browse the devices using Measurement and Automation Explorer, there is no option to reset, only "Test Panels", "Properties", and "Delete".  We're not sure where to go from here.  Any additional information would be much appreciated

Harry,

I believe you could not find the reset option becuase you are use the Traditional DAQ driver.  You can still reset the DAQ driver but the option is access by right clicking the Traditional DAQ Devices Item instead of the actual card.  Check the screeshot below.
