How do I sync external time to a PXI chassis?

I have a PXI/SCXI system gathering data from transducers on a test airplane using the controller system clock.  Is there any way to syncronize the PXI star trigger to an external clock signal?  IRIG is available but there is not sufficient time to look for a hardware solution.  I'm sampling at 10,000 samples per second per channel.

Have you looked at the PXI-6682? It could timestamp the sample clock exported from your DAQ board and sync to IRIG.

Adam, thanks - I was not aware of this module (even after a web search for cpci and irig!).  My problem is, the customer does not want to give up the 8 channels he would lose implementing this solution (all pxi-star slots in an  18 slot chassis are full).  However, it does provide a solid solution.

Is the software implementation fairly simple?  I'm currently timestamping with TICK vi, would prefer to use IRIG B.

Yes. You just enable timestamping on a particular line and then read the timestamps back. You can even specify rising or falling edge. It also has the capability of generating clocks/triggers based on the Time Reference.
