How to use Z-index Reload Phase when the Z-index pulse can come regardless of A and B being hiogh or low ? (NI6602)

"How to use Z-index Reload Phase when the Z-index pulse can come regardless of A and B being high or low ?"

Hi all !

I have setup everything for X1 Quadrature Encoder (pulses are counted well) but the Z is most of the time missed by the NI6602 card.
I'm afraid it has to do with the fact that the encoder used can generate a Z-pulse regardless of A or B being high or low while I must specify either

ND_A_HIGH_B_HIGH
ND_A_HIGH_B_LOW
ND_A_LOW_B_HIGH
ND_A_LOW_B_LOW

while I would have like to have something like ND_DONT_CARE (but that is not accepted by the function).

I would like to detect the Z-pulse and set a counter to a certain value anytime this Z is sent by the encoder.

Thanks to all who reply.

Yeah, that'd be a nice feature but unfortunately there isn't really any way to do it.  There was a similar topic very recently in this thread, where I in turn linked to another more detailed "wish list" regarding the z-index reload feature.

I understand why NI must retain support for the mode that is presently supported (only perform z-index reload during the specified 1 of the possible 4 A,B states), but very much agree that additional options would greatly enhance the counter's functionality.

ALERT! LabVIEW's subscription-only policy came to an end (finally!). Unfortunately, pricing favors the captured and committed over new adopters -- so tread carefully.
