Hi alls,
PXI-6608 can drive backplane with 75bpp 10MHz internal clock. Is that possible to "plug in" an external 10MHz Ref-IN clock to PXI-6608 ? Is it possible to configure PXI-6608 to switch to the external 10MHz (hence the backplane lock to this 10MHz) ?
Thanks.

Hello Eng Wei,
The PXI-6608 when placed in slot 2 of the PXI chassis, will automatically drive the backplane with its 75bpp 10MHz onboard clock. However, the functionality to rout an external clock source to the PXI backplane for PXI-6608 is not implemented in NI-DAQmx, so I don't think you will be able to do such a routing.
For some of NI's other PXI modules, such as the PXI-6652 Timing and Synchronization module, they have a CLK_IN pin which can be used to pump in an external 10MHz source and rout to the backplane 10MHz clock. The hardware block diagram on page 1 of the datasheet here shows this.
Best regards,

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, we have chosen PXI-6608 due to it's capability to export clock to LabVIEW while loop.
