LabVIEW 7, upgrade from 2K -> XP throws of PXI device no

Greetings,

Recently, I've upgraded my computer from 2000 to XP by corporate choice.  I'm using LabVIEW7.0 with PXI 1000B chasis.

After upgrade, the device no on PXI chasis have changed.  The format PXI13::11::INST, I thought meant that the device no is 11.  In any regards, none of my DAQ cards, 4751, 6115 and 6543 has trouble with configuration.  The device used to be 1, 2, 3 etc now it is assigned as 11, 12 and 13 randomly.  Even using the device no. the labVIEW comes up with invalid group leading to port config vi.

Anybody had trouble with this?  After installing XP, I started with clean slate.

-  Installed LabVIEW and device driver references as I had it before the upgrade.
-  I tried to install original NI PXI 4351 drivers as I had in the old system and it didn't support the XP
Led to upgrade the driver of 4351 to latest, well that required to upgrade to DAQ7.5.

Hi Whatisthis?-

It sounds like you are using NI-DAQmx since you mentioned "DAQ7.5."

You can easily adjust the device number to "Dev1", etc, using Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX).  Open MAX (Start>>Programs>>National Instruments>>Measurement and Automation) and expand the My System>>Devices and Interfaces>>NI-DAQmx Devices tree.  You can then right-click on each device and select "Rename" to set the device names to the values you would like.

Hopefully this helps-
