thanks for the examples. I got the time stamping working with a pulse train generator and can acquire frequencies as high as 2 MHz (still not really high though...)
The problem is that when I connect a real photon detector (SPAD with TTL signal) shortly after starting acquisition I get the error that some data was overwritten since the data could not me read out as fast as necessary. The actual count rate of the SPAD is only a few thousand counts.
error message:
Error -200141 occurred at DAQmx Read (Counter 1D DBL 1Chan NSamp).vi:1
Possible reason(s):
Data was overwritten before it could be read by the system.
If Data Transfer Mechanism is Interrupts, try using DMA. Otherwise, divide the input signal before taking the measurement.
