Timing on a 6601 board to read an encoder value with DAQmx.

I try to set the external clock to the 20MHz clock and it says its too fast.
I devide it by 200 and it says it gets 2 data points before the clock cycles.
Works fine using the daq assistant but I need to collect some analog data at
the same time as well as run an analog control loop. I just can't get the 1000
line encoder to go using the Daqmx. If I had an RTSI cable could I connect
over to my analog card and use the timing for the analog inputs for the source.
It appears as a choice but says there is no link between the cards.

Or I just need an Daqmx 6601 encoder input example.

I think I found it. Apparently searching the examples for encoder won't get it done. I should have looked for Angular Positioning Device.

BTW. All the problems I was getting from the DAQmx timing function was because I didn't need one.
