Use the following steps to install your Counter/Timer board:
1)Make sure you have administrative privileges and install the driver (make sure your hardware is not connected at this point). It is recommended to use the newest version which is supported by your system. For Windows 2000/XP this is version 8.1. For version compatability look
here. It will also link you to the driver download page in case you do not have the latest version and need to get it.
2)Once the driver is installed and you have followed the instructions to reboot your computer, shut down the computer and install your card. Make sure it is well seated. When you start your computer you should get the automatic pop-up "Found new Hardware". If this does not come up you can go to your Control Panel and choose to install new hardware. DAQmx should recognize and install the card.
When properly installed, the card should show up as a Data Acquisition Device.
If this does not work, try another PCI slot, then try another machine. This will help you determine which hardware or software (driver) is causing the problem.
