"Verify 6608.vi" Returns No Frequency

I am attempting to calibrate the counter on my PXI-6608.

I downloaded and ran the "verify 6608.vi"

After running for 6 minutes, it returned with a frequency of 0 Hz and no error.

I can confirm the approximate frequency with the Test Stand in Measurement and Automation Explorer.

Hello,

Could you direct me to where you downloaded "verify 6608.vi" so that I can see what this VI is doing and why you are seeing this behavior.

Thank you,

Justin

Here is a link to the NI Calibration software for the PXI-6608.

What I was counting in MAX was actually the 20MHz timebase.  I was just approximating with "One Mississippi" and was a second off.  I get no signal when counting on /Dev2/PFI39.

Now I get the approximate 10MHz signal on PFI_39 (using a stopwatch).

However, the Verify 6608.vi program outputs no frequency and an error of -10800.

Hello,

Are you using a reference 10 MHz clock to conduct the calibration?  This signal should be connected to lines 2 and 36 as shown in the connection diagram that is included with the calibration software. Then follow the procedures in this manual. The Verify TIO.vi in the manual refers to the Verify 6608.vi and the Calibr TIO.vi refers to the Adjust 6608.vi.

Thank you,

Justin

I have connected a 10 MHz clock to the 6607 card (GND to pin 36, clock signal to pin 2).

I can confirm that I get about 10 million counts per second through MAX for PFI-39.

My only thought is that my clock is possibly not accurate enough.  Would this cause Verify6608 to return a zero frequency or error -10800?

Hello,

What version of NI-DAQ are you using?  This can be found by opening Measurement & Automation Explorer and expanding the Software tab in the left pane.  The most recent version is 7.4.4, if your version is older than this then you can upgrade. If you have the latest version then you might try and repair it or reinstall it because the error you are getting is a timeout error when calling into a NI-DAQ dll.

Thank you,

Justin

I am attempting to verify and calibrate the PXI-6608.

Previously I have used verify.vi and TIO_Calibrate.vi from the traditional DAQ driver software ok.

Now I have a new computer 64bit and windows 7 but the traditional daq is not compatable with these.

I have installed NI_DAQmx driver NIDAQ960f0 but cant see these vi in there.

Is verify.vi and TIO_calibrate.vi available somewhere which will run on windows 7 64 bit?
