reading an abs sensor from a DAQ board counter?

Hello folks,

I am building a multichannel DAQ system  using a USB 6008 board. Do you know if it is possible to read a pulse train generated by an abs (antilock braking system) sensor of the kind used on motorbikes on the counter input of the board? I usually use encoders, so I have never used this kind of magnetic sensors.

Tks and best regards to you all

Hi nunzio,

It depends on the type of signal the abs sensors are outputting.   The counters accept TTL signals, so as long as your signal is a square wave that matches TTL logic levels, you will be able to read the pulse train.  The counter on teh USB-6008 will only be able to do edge counting - advanced counter functions like frequency measurement and pulse width are not available.
