Simultaneous force and displacement using NI-9174

Hello,

I'm working on integrating a load cell and string potentiometer with the NI-9174 chassis. I've been able to obtain signals from both using the NI-9237 strain gage module, but none of the acquired signals have been usable.

The load cell output shows up as the same spike in voltage regardless of the applied load. The string pot acts like a switch whenever the string is moved. I suspect we may need to amplify the output on these transducers, or possibly use a different module, but I was hoping to get some insight before making any purchases.

For your strain measurements please take a look at these relevant KBs here and here as a start. As for the string pot, could you provide some insight on how the system is configured as well as how you have your program configured (scaling, sampling, etc)?
