Connecting DasyLab with a DP41-s-s2 Strain Gauge

I've recieved a Dasylab program through Omega for a DP41 temperature sensor.  I need to change the setup to work with a DP41 Strain Gauge.  Currently when I connect, the readout on Dasylab is 0.000 when then readout on the DP41 digital display is around 2000 (I have a weight hanging from it).  Do I need to change the Measurement data request and measurement data format to allow for the strain gauge readout?  Currently in the program they are set at :  *X01\r\n and a\r.  Please help as I need to get this setup up and running!  Thanks in advance, A.J.

Have you contacted Omega for assistance?

Things to check:

Interface - ensure that the meter and DASYLab are using the same comm. port settings.

Ensure that the Meter is set up to allow RS232 communications

Have you checked the communication in the RS232 Monitor? Click on the RS232 monitor button to open the monitor.

There will be a Chn 0 button that you can click to send the *X01<CR> command. What do you see in the window below?

Have you tested the meter with any other software, such as Hyperterminal or  Iconnect?  Does it work? Is it the only connected device?

Measurement Computing (MCC) has free technical support. Visit www.mccdaq.com and click on the "Support" tab for all support options, including DASYLab.
