Dasylab

Is there anyway to get Dasylab to Sync. with a Ni DaqMx Task that has a warning message.  We have some NI 9237 Strian gage modules that apparently have some sort of EEPROM problem and Mx gives us warning #200045.  This warning does not keep the Task from running in Mx, but I am unable to pull it into DasyLab.  We are trying to find out how to fix the problem with the modules but after a month of discussing this with NI and trying multiple new modules the problem still exists.  I am hoping that there is something that can be changed in Dasylab that may help us work around this problem until it is resolved, since this is taking much longer than I would have suspected it would.
Thanks

Hi bkl,

I am not very familiar with DASYLab but I am familiar with the hardware and would like to know if this warning occurs in Measurement and Automation Explorer when you test your task I believe this is what you are referring to when you say Mx but I would like to be certain. Another question that I have is which version of the DAQmx driver you are using. Also what levels are you measuring with your device? If we can understand why this warning is occurring then we eliminate the need to ignore it in DASYLab.

JaceD,

Thanks for your response.  Yes I was referring to Daqmx when I said Mx.  The problem has finally been resolved after much work with NI.  It turned out that one of the User Fields of the EEPROM was left blank and that when DaqMx read the EEPROM it would reject all of the data due to the blank field.  There is a fix for this now listed on the NI Website so hopfully no one else will have to waste a month trying to get this issue resolved.  Thanks for you response and I am going to attach a copy of another thread that may explain things a little better and also gives a link to the repair procedures.

Hi bkl,

The error you are experiencing is possibly due to a known issue with firmware shipped on some NI 9237s.  You can repair the firmware by either writing to the user defined area of the EEPROM or by modifying the EEPROM password.  The KnowledgeBase article: KB 4EUB3NNO: Warning 200045 When Using NI-9237 in NI cDAQ-9172, describes several options to fix the error.  The fix has only recently been made available, which would explain why you did not receive this answer the first time you sent your boards in for repair.  Let us know if you have any other questions.
