Digital transmitters

Hi,

I am going to build a new test lab. There are a lot of analog transmitters outthere and Dasylab gets along fine with them.

But using digital transmitters would be much better regarding calibration of the whole measuring chain. Do anybody have experience of using several digital transmitters with Dasylab?

Where can I find pressure transmitters, humidity and temperature transmitters that are digital and compatible with Dasylab?

Thank you in advance!

Hello!

You can find information about which hardware DASYLab supports here:

DASYLab Support - Hardware Drivers Supported by DASYLab

http://www.ni.com/support/dasylab/hwdriver.htm

The site also informs about the following:

“Technical Support Information

DASYLab support is available through National Instruments for all customers using National Instruments boards with DASYLab. For all other technical support requests with third party boards, please contact your local DASYLab representative.”

You can contact support at DASYLab here:

Thanks,

There was a lot about interfaces to the computer. Does DASylab handle different digital signals in a "plug and play" manner? What kind of communication should I ask for when buying diferent transmitters? And which of the interfaces in your link should I buy for these transmitters?

Thank you

Hello!

I might have misunderstood you here:

Are you talking about transducers and sensors in other words the devices that convert physical phenomena (light, temperature, pressure, position, sound, etc.) into a measurable electrical signal, such as voltage or current?

So the interfaces I sent a link about are measuring devices that you then connect signals (either voltages or current directly or these transducers that converts to an electric signal) to either directly or through a signal conditioning device.

What do you refer to when you say quote:

“Does DASylab handle different digital signals in a "plug and play" manner?”

The very same signal can be considered to be either analog or digital: it just depends on what kind of information you want to gather. If we talk about digital signals we usually are interested of the rate and the state while when we talk about analog signal we are interested of the level, shape and frequency.

Hi,

Yes I mean pure digital signals from i.e a humidity transmitter or a pressure transmitter. There are transmiter that conveys the measured relative humidity or pressure as a pure digital signal.

I do'nt know much about how to proceed but I have seen that there are Digital outputs like RS 485, RS 232, Hart and Profibus Etc. Is it possible to connect devices like that in a simple way "plug and play" and what more is required than just the DASYlab software to get it running. Probably I will find different type of digital communication, will DASylab handle that easily too?

Hope you understand my question now (I'm a beginner)
