Hello,
I list below a brief scan of my situation.
Tests :
Vehicle testing with in board system
We have near 15 systems
Materials :
* CAN Data system
* PCMCIA card from NI CAN/2
* Windows XP 32
* Windows 7 32 => In futur
* DasyLab V6.007
* DasyLab V10 or 11 => In futur (Purchase intended with short terms)
* NI USB-CAN => In futur
Actual probllems :
We use laptop from our internal catalogue and their age can be from now to 5 years old.
So, we have some bugs or bad fonctionnalities with some of them.
My request is :
Can you suggest me a model of laptop that is 100 % compatible with our configuration ?
Thanks a lot.
Good week-end!
Hugus.

We're not in the business of recommending specific computers.
As long as the laptop supports your hardware (PCMCIA slots have gone away).
You need DASYLab V11 SP1 (not yet released) for Windows 7 support.
For DASYLab V6, you want Windows XP or Windows 2000 on the laptop. It doesn't support Vista.
Other than that... you probably want 1GB of memory and a decent screen resolution (1024x768 is a minimum).

Hey,
Yes, i understand !
But if you use yourself laptop for testing and validating DasyLab, i would know your model ?
The problem is that i have to invest in 15 laptop and if i have imcpompatibility it'll be a big problem.
So, for you there is no risk to have an imcompatibility problem ?
Indeed with DasyLab V6 we use Windows XP 32bit
And with DasyLab V11 or 10 we will use Windows 7 (or Vista).
Also another problem with DasyLab V11 :
When i want read an .ASC file and write it in a new .ASC file but with a "filename+path" define as combi format (strings read from DasyLab.INI), the flowchart stop immediatly and DasyLab don't open an error message.
I have selected in the global settings " "Create missing folders".
Do you know why ?
Thanks
Hugus

Personally, I've been very happy with my Dell computers. Currently using a Dell D620 (older model) with 2 GB of RAM. We use a mix of computers around the company, and have standardized on Dell in the last several years. I also have an older Dell model that still runs DASYLab 6,7,8, but I don't use it for more current versions.
Customers who bring computers to our classes have a variety of laptops, from Sony VAIO to Lenovo Thinkpad -- some HP, but I'm not sure of the model.

Hi, I have also experinces problems with Dasylab V11, the "create missing folders" doesn't work. There is a bug in the software. I have also experinced other problems with V11 and have gone back to V10 until V11 SP1 is released.
