How do I activate the message module once per trigger event?

I am using the action module to display a message and eventually send emails when a trigger event occurs, say a temperature goes over a limit.  Currently when a trigger occurs (TTL High from a pre/post trigger) the action module continues to produce messages every minute in the message window, continues to send messages to the log file, and would continue to send e-mails every minute if I had the e-mail module active.  I would like to have the messgae displayed once.  Any help would be appreciated and thank you.

You should use Rising Edge for the event, not TTL High. It has an automatic hysteresis because it looks for a change from low to high, not just high.
