Coupling Data and Report.File

Status: Already Implemented

Hello Pieczarek,

This function is already implemented. It is up to you how to synchronize the file folders for the different DIAdem modules. Please have a look at the menu “Settings” – “DIAdem Settings” and there at “Select path” and the help on this page.

Greetings

Walter

It´s boring and annoying to open a Datafile and the Report-File manually.

When I open a Datafile and change to Report, then the Fileopen-Button opens a complete different directory and i have to click (many clicks!) to the destination where the Datafile was loaded from.

Please improve this!

Hello Mr. Rick,

I know this, but when working on different projects at the same time (or reviewing old data) I`d prefer to have a

better interaction between Navigator, View and Report.

For approx. 80% of our data we save a separate Report layout. When I load a data file (and there exists a report or view layout with the same name) it wolud be very helpful when they were loaded too automatically.

A second improvement would be, that  the fileopen button opens the path which was last opened, no matter in which module. For example: if I load a file in navigator and change then to report, then the fileopen function in report module shows the same directory.

Pieczarek

Hello Mr. Pieczarek,

I can understand your request, but please note that the we try to have a default configuration of DIAdem which fits most of our customers. I addition to that it is typical possible to change this configuration or customize it.

For your first request I suggest the following:

Create a Root property for the name of a corresponding REPORT layout file. Create a user command for the event Navigator.Events.OnLoaded. The event is automatically called after a file is loaded and the user command can investigate the property and load the corresponding layout.

For your second request:

As I already mentioned this is a question of the path synchronization in DIAdem. If the data path and the document path are the same, then the loading behavior is as requested. Please have a look at the menu “Settings” – “DIAdem Settings” and there at “Select path” and the help on this page.

Greetings

Walter
