3D Contour Export

I have been trialling DIAdem 11.1 with the view to display results from testing onto the surface of a 3D model. I am able to do this, however i wish to be able to be able to show this to others who dont have the DIAdem program. Is there a way to export the 3D colour contour display of the results from testing which i have applied to a 3D model in DIAdem to an executable program?? I would still need to be able to rotate the model and see the variation in values over the surface of the model and also run a timetrace for each node which has bee used to generate the colour contour on the model surface.

Thanks

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

DIAdem does not create executables, since it is not a programming language (unlike LabVIEW, CVI and some other NI software). That said, there are two ways to do what you would like to do:

  1. If you create and share the VIEW layout and the related data set, 3D models can be imported into DIAdem BASE and the user there will have all the functionality of the layout your have created with DIAdem Professional. DIAdem BASE users cannot create new layouts, but they can use the layouts that a DIAdem Professional user shares with them. DIAdem BASE acts like a player in that case.
  2. You can share "movies" of 3D models by using tools such as SnagIt or Camtasia. These tools take the output of a window and create a video file that can then be played in Windows Media Player. This doesn't allow for any user interaction, but it's free.

Let us know if you have any further questions,
